New To the MPC2000

I just bought an MPC 2000 from ebay and I already have a motif 6. I cant get the two to communicate. One thing thats disturbing me is that I noticed on the screen my drums are marked off. I can get the curser to move down to it, it only goes across. I know that the function keys has sumthing to do with it but I just dont know what...
If someone can help me there I would appreciate it!

have a manual? you should download one and read through it. it can help a whole lot with what your trying to do. its all in there.

but you probably need to connect your motif with your mpc using midi cables. and to use midi on a track, you have to change DRUM to MIDI and select which midid channel to use.

(i.e. MIDI:1-16a/b)

There's a vid on here of some one doing exactly what you want to do. It was on the first page a few days ago, have a look.
