is it possible 2 mute PART of a track in a sequence(MPC2K)?

one of the few hurdles i've got:


if i have a two bar loop(consisting of a 2 bar sample and 2 bars of drumming) but i wanna make a seperate sequence where the drums drop out on the second bar, but the sample keeps going.



is there a way to so this without recreating the drum track from scratch?

Copy the sequence.

On the copy, go into step edit, and erase each hit from each track of the sequence you want gone.

Presto!
