No diggin friends. Come to my town in South Carolina, and ask em what "to go diggin" means, you won't get an answer you're looking for. I'm the only one around that produces sample based music, everyone else is using keyboards and stuff, and when I say "everyone else", I mean like 3 other guys who are into beatmaking.

thats cool, i'm not knockin anyone, last time i dug with a friend, he picked up some hot shyt that i would have def copped had he not been there. I also don't like other peoples agenda when i'm doin my thing. My wife is the only one that ever comes with me, she knows she can leave the store , go shopping, come back and i'll still be there. never rushin me.

I usally dig by myslef out in PA, but when i come back home to jerz me and one of my best friends go digging. I got him into djing and producing a few years ago, so im like his mentor showing him what to mess with. Last night we hit up NYC and we both did real good. I think its cool though that he got a cat like me around to show him the light. TOok me a few years to learn by myslef so giving back to heads is rewarding for me. He did snatch some shit up though that i wanted, but i let him slide. :D

i use to digg with two oor three of my friends , but we stopped that when i got married and moved out the bachlor pad. everyonce in a while they call me up to hit up the vinyl shops but i've been diggin since birth by myself and i've done pretty well, i've been diggin about 28 years i didnt start making beats till 6 years ago , so you dont really have to dig to sample it's just for the love of music , i dj so most of what i dig for is music to play at party's and mix, but i dig also for music to make beats, i first dig for the listen pleasure i love al kinds of music,
and if theres stuff there for sampling then i will use it as well,

when i started off way back then, there was no internet to help you out like nowadays, you just got to remeber the music your folks listen to when you were a kid and remeber the music that was being played in those times and start to dig for it, i dont see whats so hard about that ;these newbies today they want to take short cuts, use your mind to dig, remeber the music of past like i said thats what has made me dig deeper for songs that i remeber as a kid, once i find that i remeber another song and try to find that.
i aint tryin to come down on any newbies but some of the things i read in here is just a matter of remebering your childhood ,i kno you guys listen to the radio growing up thats all i did i hardly ever watch tv ,

i see diggin as a gift , the gift to listen to old music artist real talented artist that put there art on vinyl to be presrved and thats my mission to find songs of the past that i have heard or songs in the sametime frame that were fire,

i dont kno how you can say it's a curse, if you dont have anyone to learn from, that would make me get more in to the culture and read up on artist study the music, it's a curse cause you dont want to do it your self, dont be afraid man thats what this is all about takin chances, if you get a record that you dont like then take it back or give it back to the thrift store ther's someone out there that has the taste for it.
diggin with my friends only impared my herizions, more like distracted me , be cause there calling out "yo you got this, remeber this, who used this" when in my head i have a list i'm on the hunt for .

but 4000xl is right , thats what we are here for to help each other out and share the knowledge,
just keep diggin , you dont need anyone to hold your hand ask your parents man they prolly know some sh!t you dont even know about,
peace

I usually go to the spots with some homies that I produce with, cuz we end up sharing records later on anyway. imo its better to do both, but probably dig on your own a little more.

good lookin out 4K 8)

I dig by myself. I don't like when friends of whoever rolls with me b/c they might not be interested and they'll be huffin and puffin all frustrated trying to get you to wrap it up and all that emotion and stuff ruins my digging mood. I hate being rushed!

I got a mate I go digging with every once in a while, normally after he gets paid. We normally just dig for a few hours in a couple of spots, then go back, roll up some joints and listen to what we got. Good thing is he is heavy into Blues, so he ain't digging for samples, he just digging cause he loves Blues, which means he don't get in the way of me in the Jazz section, but I get to use all the dope Blues stuff he gets.
