adding MPC riddim to a demo cd....

Hi,

sorry if this seems a simple question, but a friend of mine just gave me a demo of songs with just guitar and vocals. i'm keen to add some percussion and samples with the mpc, but am wondering about the best way to do this.

i expect pulling the wav file into something like Live and slaving the MPC to that (in non-loop mode) would be the best way of going about something like this.

then bouncing down to a paralell track when all is said and done.

does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thats gonna be a **** if he didn't record to a click track. You'd have to slice the wav file into measures and stretch them all individually. Also mixing is gonna be a little more difficult with the vocal and guitar on the same track. On the plus side, it's easy to slave the MPC up to Live...

i would just import the whole track as a sample and record the tracks to it real time, maybe throw some loops in. it does'nt have to be perfectly in time all the time f%%k it. it will sound better

if you got a copy of Live, do it that way. dont have any better suggestions. Live is the sh!t.
