Zip problem

I just installed a zip 750mb in my mpc2000xl! But the problem is, when
i try to load a .pgm the mpc says: "not enough memory" I can't even load more than 3 sounds! All the pgms and sound are from the akai cd.

How can I solve this problem?

Man, I don't think that's going to work (750) unless that was a typo, I don't think MPC's will go beyond 750 INT. I would get that zip out fasssst and put in a 250.

Can anyone tell me what it means if the following message appears on the mpc; "not enough memory"? Isn't it possible to load programs if you only have 2meg memory?

Well, you need to get 32MB ASAP. Yes, you can load with 2MB, but go into, I am not in front of my MPC, but I think its shift + sample and press open window and that should tell you your available MEM. Then if you have pgms that you need to clear all, go to shift + trim, open on any sample press delete and select all, that will clear ALL samples from memory.

Another option would be to check to see how many PGMS you have loaded. Also keep in mind that file sizes differ especially if the sample is in stereo which is double what the mono version would be. Go into your PGM window and check how many PGMs you have going, delete the ones you need to delete re assign the one or ones you want to the drum channel designation of your choice and continue beatmaking. If more detail on how to is needed holla!

Some programs are more than 2mb... especially if they are stereo samples instead of mono. Best thing you should do is pick individual sounds and assign them to the pads you want them to play on, and make your own programs. Unless you got the dough for your 32mb upgrade, which you will eventually be glad you got.
