I got the 1000 and i use ACID Pro 4.0 to track my beats out. When i track it out seperately should i have the volume knob all the way on high, even though my master volume is at 0db?

bump,

i d like to know the answer too.

It seems to me the easy answer is: volume as high as possible without clipping on the recording. that way you make the most of your bits.

but on the other hand, the gain amps might not work so cleanly when they are maxxed out.. they might have a 'sweet spot' more in the middle. anyone know this?

Yeah I would say it would be best to keep your volume knob on the mpc all the way up. Then keep that as standard. If you are sending sounds out the individual outputs don't mess with the individual volumes of sounds inside the box. If you are tracking out of the stereo outputs adjust the volume off your sample inside the mpc. The just put the main fader in acid wherever you feel necessary.
