mpc 1000 price drop? $799 new

Hi,

Guitar Center is now selling the mpc1000 new for $799.

Is there a chance that the v2 os will actually be using different hardware?

Or are they just selling them to get rid of the red and blue colors? I can't believe akai would do a $200 discount just to get rid of the older colors.

Any ideas or comments?

I find it very odd that they've dropped the price $200. I've read all the post about the 2.0 os and understand that it runs on the same hardware. I'm just really curious why it is suddenly going for so much cheaper. I'm not complaining (I like the red and blue!), just curious if there is something coming that is causing them to lower the price on the 1000.

yeah i seen one today for 799 canadaian. titled "new" but of course its a floor model, it was sitting open, right there.

Ya I noticed that price drop last week when I bought my mpc1k. That coupled with a free ram upgrade, how can one go wrong?? Then reading about the new OS upgrade coming thru, I think there really is a Santa Claus now!!!!!

For me, I think the mpc1k makes a perfect spouse for a virus C! must sleep...too many sleepless nights so far...

In case you don't remember, the MPC1K was $780 when it originally came out. Then those greedy bastards at Akai saw it was popular and then bumped up the price.

They were $799 Earlier this summer. I was kinda waiting on that price again, but I got mine for a descent price though.

yeah i got mine for like 800 but with tax and shit it was like 900 or a grand. I forget. It was 2 years ago.

the first time that i've seen the 1000 was in sam ash. i was there around april of last year, they were selling it for $699, then in august, it went to $799 then in october it went and stayed at $999

The best price I can find, brand new, on the net is $895. Guitar Center isn't listed.

no your wrong..they have always been 800....at guitar center ofcourse...but hey i live in southern californias.
