Zoom MRS-4

@ the moment my computer is a pain in the @ss..so I want to buy a stand alone multitracker..tho I have short pockets

I've seen the Zoom MRS-4 but it records on 32Khz..is this to low for recording hip hop? I Dont have to have sparkling sounds and all that cuz most of my beats are kinda dark and grimey..!

I think that's a little low if there's gonna be vocals on there, if you're gonna just have beats on it I guess it's fine, but I personally wouldn't record anything that's not on at least 44.1k cause 44.1k is CD quality, if other people are gonna hear it then that's the way to go. Plus if your beats are already grimy at 44.1k they will be exactly the way you made them, not "colored" by the sample rate. Just my two pennies

Yeah i has the excact same problem and got the mrs-4 and the unit is handy the sound is really crisp n clean u can even tell its 32khz.

cause it sounds cleaner than when i record on my pc and due to the reduced sonic spectrum u could argue that it sounds more punchy which is cool for the hip hop i make.

but essentially what eva signal u run into the machine u will get the same back, its nice n cheap runs on batteries and enables me to make n record msuic without turning the computer on which is always nice cause pcs can **** up alot.

but cuz it;s 32Khz..how do you burn i on cd..extract the files using a smartmedia reader..covert it to wave en then what?

you have some audio exapamples from your beats recorded whit this machine?

I still record and do the final mastering on the pc cause thats what i use to burn cd's.
but i use the zoom if im recording vocals, so i record a beat on 1 track and mix my vocals and other sounds on the other tracks, than record to pc for the master.

okay..but you first record your beat out of the MPC into the MRS? and you're are happy with the quality?

why dont you digital transfer your music out of the MRS to your PC?

I aint got an mpc I got an sp505 and the quality i get from the mrs is clean with thump ud neva know on listening that its less than cd quality.

any 1 usig this baby with a MPC?

JPEG if I am correct I can sync it to my MPC, so that I can track out my track one by one rite?!!
