Battery Problem?

Okay, I have a little annoyance....I have a sequence of only about 4 sounds IN the mpc and the rest in the S950. The sounds in my MPC will dissapear, say when I attempt to change a sequence, or sometimes when I just stop playing the sequence, chill for a bit, and play the sequence again.

I'll have to reload the sounds again, but even then, the same thing will happen when I go to change the sequence. The S950 is fine, and will still play the same sounds where they are supposed to be, so the actual sequence is good, but the sounds dissapear.

Anyone know what that could be? The only thing I can think of is the battery.

nah dude the battery doesn;t keep the sounds in the machine, it stores parameter info when the unit is shut down. Sounds like you're having some power issues shuttng the MPC off, but if the sequence is still there then that can;t be it.

Maybe it's a bug? I think the common version is 3.10e 07/02/97.

I don;t think that would do it, maybe the MPC is receiving different midi messages, maybe a PGM change is taking you to an empty program.

Do a test and pay more attention, when it happens, look under sounds 1 and see if you are onf program_2 or something, reselect the program and make sure the sounds are still in memory.

I haven't had this problem with my 60 yet, but I'm curious. I haven't had mine long.

Would restoring factory settings and power cycling possibly fix this? Or is this a corrupted OS?

once we get a good look at what is actually happening it ill be clear.

ahhh, it was a program change thing

this was a beat I was doing back when I had that horrible Micron and was attempting (unsuccessfully) to play more than one sound from it at a time and was trying to use different programs to do it......

so on like track 8 or 9 the program was set on 2, it was the same on both sequences, but when I changed the sequence it would still cause the sounds to drop out...

so I changed them back to program 1 or none, whatever the rest were set at and it works good now

go into the midi screen and for the internal sampler set it to ignore program change. it's at the top of the screen.
