Does anyone know where to get one and if so the best place / price. P.S. I have tried search and it brings back 1600 topics just listing basically all topics in the forum from most recent ... not very intuitive...

Go with Telesis if at all possible. I ordered the white backlight for my MPC 3000 and I love it. Installation is relatively easy, especially if it's on a MPC 60, but if you have a 3000, there's just a few more screws to deal with, nothing major though. I started a thread on this, back in June or July: http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php ... highlight=

You can also check out: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MPC3000. They have the step by step instructions (with pics) of how to swap out the backlight on an MPC 3000

Let us know how it turns out!

Damn perfect timing. Mines just went out after three months of flickering. SO, how much for the white light, and are you sure its easy, Redgreenz, Ive opened the 3K before and it seems like a bit of drama. Hit me back!

The complete, step by step instructions for fitting a new LCD backlight were put together by yahoo group MPC3000 list member "David" DVDBORN.

As you're a member of the MPC3000 list at yahoo you can download the *.PDF of this file and check out the procedure:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/MPC3000/files/

Said document is in the "Various Documents" folder.

Once you've checked the document you should be able to make your mind up easily as to whether this task is some thing you're capable of performing ... or not as the case may be.

Good luck.

Rohan.

Dove - It's pretty easy. I know that after you open up the 3k, you can get discouraged by all of the wires, screws, etc.. BUT... if you carefully follow the step by step on yahoo, installing the backlight won't be much of a problem. You should be comfortable/familiar with using a soldering iron, if not, don't f*#@k around, send the entire backlight to Telesis, and they'll do it for you. No need to risk murkin ya MPC's display.. I have some before and after flics of my 3k's backlight, but I gotta find em. When I do, I'll post em.
