Sup y'all
im gettin into trackin out my beats, instead of lazily recording a simple stereo track. I dont have the money for anything else, and i cant find pro tools on bit torrent so I use Sony vegas in conjunction with soundforge for recording each track seperately.
here's my setup:
mpc2000xl
m-audiophile 2496
old ass gemini disco mixer
blah blah blah, yaddah yaddah yaddah
i have two questions:
1) How do I sync up the mp via midi so that when i hit record on vegas the mp plays,
or when i hit play on the mp vegas records?
everything's midi'd together:
midi out on audiophile ->> mp midi in
midi out on mp - >> audiophile midi in
2) Once im done recording each individual track, what's a quick way to drop in effects and eq quickly, without going thought that tedious effects screen (whre you choose an "effects chain")?
I want to eq on the fly, so i dont have to restart the damn file when i want to hear what i changed.
I also want to eq while the song is playing, so i can hear the difference as it applies to the mix as a whole, and not just that particualr sound.
For example, i want to beef up my drums a little. I go to that damn effects screen, and finally get to where i can adjust them, and all i can hear is the drums...i cant hear the drums AND the hats, melody, etc...
I knowa couple of u guys use vegas, like lampdog i believe...
thanks alot for any help
peace
