well if the ins dont work and u are trying to sample than thats the reason your mpc is freezing. See if u can get them repaired. If u dont feel like going through the trouble than just mail the mpc to me and Ill buy it off you for what u paid

I always suggest disconnecting all connectors and reconnect them... sometimes they wiggle loose over time from transportation, banging the pads, expansion and contraction from the temperature... etc.

any connector, ram, etc.... disconnect, clean if needed.... reconnect.

And if that's not the case, are there any known problems/solutions with AD/DA board? Couldn't find anything on this matter, including at least schematics. Is buying the new AD/DA board the only option?

I dont know, cause I suppose it might depend on what is actually wrong with it.... also, you would need to find out if that is actually the issue. My suggestion is if it does not work then buy another cheap or broken 2000... maybe one with a burned screen.... swap out parts. That will probably be cheaper and you might get a few expansions with it to make it more worth while.

Thanks for the advice. Although I don't have enough money now to buy those parts as they seem to be very expensive. In the mean time, i tried searching for possible problems in circuitry and found one fuse on the ada pc board fried. the screen unfreezes and i'm able to select mode with no problem when this broken fuse is shortened. now i'm facing another problem, low or no volume in the headphones.. didn't really check for all the symptoms, will buy a replacement fuse and then proceed.

Just an update: the freeze problem was solved for me by replacing the fuse (marked FS2 on the board, but I guess burned out FS1 would give the same simptoms), the replacement part cost me less than a dollar. I am now able to select mode between left, right and stereo. What I do not get is the sound :hmmm:
