Yo I just picked up this microphone and a Bellari Preamp. Has anyone heard anything, positive or negative about this microphone? It is supposed to be the first 48V Phantom powered dynamic, which makes it more like a condenser w/out having to be enclosed.

Haven't heard anything bad about the Blue Mic but hell it's a Baby Blue so I have no doubt in my mind that it sounds good. I was actually looking into copping a Baby Blue bottle mic myself. That is when I get situated and find the right studio space to call home.

i dont have personal experience with the ball but i have heard and read good things. the bellari is alright said a buddy who has one, nothing special. i dont think it colors the sound in a bad way. this for voacls only, or all purpose?

Blaz4me, i wouldnt wait to buy a mic till your studio space is situated dog, just buy a good mic and start using it. if you got a good mic, it will sound good in a bathroom, for real. just treat the acoustics with blankets or whatever and knock the nasty bathroom verb out, then your set. i used my tlm103 for over a year in the bathroom, living room, and bedroom before i finally built a vocal booth. the important thing is to just get it and get used to it.
you'll never be fully satisfied with your studio space, there is always something cooler than what you'll have. at least thats the way it is for me. but thats what is cool about it, you got your space and do your thing wherever you can and keep getting better regardless of where you are, then when you in the big studio it is that much better.

i agree with Mesh

don't put things off just because of your space
good equipment will work under any conditions
you might have

once you get the studio straight you will not have
to waste time getting up to speed on learning equipment

you can get straight to work, making / recording music

shit i just got off soundclick listening to a cat using
a Office Depot $9.99 mic and Cool Edit

and thats all he had but shit he was making it work

you ahead of the game mane, a lot of cats cant even
make a decision like purchasing a mic cause
they aint even got no loot!

Mesh, I am recording vocals and acoustic guitar samples.
Blaz4me, I would'nt trip on space either. About 6 years ago I was that cat using the $9.99 Office Max mic in the corner by the computer ya dig. Regardless of your living situation there is always a way to make ish work.
Right on for the input tho!

Peace,
D. James

I hear yall and if I was still flowing I would agree with yall hands down but my set up is primarily for track production. I plan to get the mic as soon as I find a building to do the whole rig up! Besides tha I got a lot of friends with studios so when it really counts I'm there. But dam there are those times when company comes thru and we get to freestyling and rip some hard ass bars. I'm definately gone gather up some beans and cop that mic. Aight, Peace and good looking on the pep talk. I just realized that I really needed to hear that.

just get a rode nt1a and be done with it.

ive got a couple of these now and take them with me when im recording somewhere else.

sure we still use different condensors per the mood of the project but for a cheap all round condesnor mic the NT1-A simply cant be beaten... vocals and instruments... its great.

IMHO dont get the AKG C9000.... i hate that mic with a passion. its a handheld condensor so i thought itd be good for those stupid mc's who cant get used to a shockmounted condensor.... but it sucks.
