Patch & bank ?

Can the mpc save patch and bank numbers, because its really annoying when your use to using things like sonar and fruity and everything is saved, and then you have to keep track on every module what sound you used with the mpc. You will eventually run out of places to save on your modules.
Music making would be alot quiker and easier if this could be done. My OS is old, so I could be wrong. Thank you MPC fans

instead of selecting which patch to use on the module, select which patch to use on the mpc..

select which midi channel to use then the patch...for exapmle this is how the screen should look:

MIDI:1a Velo%:100 Pgm:32

the Pgm:xx value is the patch number your using.

(xx being the patch number on the module)

So if your using a module, and you change Pgm your changing which patch your using on the module you have it set to. So Pgm:32 would be using Patch 32 on whichever module is set to Midi A

get it? and when you use the Pgm option instead of selecting the patch on the module, you can save your sequence and the Pgm will save also. so when you pull it back up, you dont have to remember which patch you were using since its already set.

am I making sense? As far as software and VSTi's, im not sure if it will work. But for hardware, it should work fine!


oh, im using the mpc 2000 btw

so your saying if i desided or accidentally changed the channels on my module, when i press play again, the sounds on the module will jump back to the right patch ?

yup. thats how it should work. if im not mistaken this is what will happen if you change the Pgm: option.

if you change the patch on the module, it wont change the pgm value that you set. but once you press play it should jump back to what you were using....

try it and see. i know on the 2000 it works like that for me although im human and could be mistaken
