NEW (unwanted)SPACEY SOUND when sampling

i sampled a guitar part yesterday, but i trimmed to much off of it, so today i went to sample it again and try to trim it right, but when i sampled it again it had a different sound to it. before it was warm/natural feeling but the one i sampled today sounds echo-like/unnatural.
i noticed that when i turned it on today igot to a screen (by mistake) that only had one word in it ("velocity" i think), the numeric light was on, and i punched in a different number than what was originally there. i tried to go back to that screen, but i couldn't find it in the mpc or in the manual. i think i might have changed the velocity of the input or something similar
does anyone know what this screen was, or what might have happened. thank you

i.e. i know that it isn't the "rec gain" knob. and i know i can change the way the second sample sounds to make it like the first, but i don't want my samples sounding this way all the time.

LOL!!! so i guesse im imagining things then, huh? ....i don't know i still here it. im gettin a physical in a few weeks, maybe that'll give me an answer to my mpc1k problem.

i do believe your hearing something in the sound. no your probably not goin crazy, but I dont know how to help you

try to turn down the monitor so it's not the same as the recording gain level, and try to turn off the threshold, try these things see if that works,

try to EQ your samplesound) before you sample it , so it sounds like what you want it to sound like, other than that i dont know what else to tell you may be clean your needle and your vinyl.

i use a 2kxl so i dont know

to me it sounds like you're hearing the sample and the output of your sampler at the same time. the space effect is called phasing. concentrate next time...
