they both look aight the rounded turntables i find kinda wack but is it so much better i should get it? they both the same price i aint a serious dj i just like to play wit my records in between makin beats[/list]

i used those decks, and there deffinitley worth it for a beginner

if you really want to get into spinning records, you should save up some more money and get better equipment.

you'll hate those sets after a few months...

when i started i bought a cheap set, and after 4 months i got new tables and after another 3 months i got a new mixer...

I'm with flip...just save up a bit longer and get better equipment.

Same ish happened to me, i bought a cheap azz set. 2 months later i'd saved enough for 1200's and a month after that got a vestax 05 mixer. Save your cash and get good gear.

I spent $500 on my crap set (numark) and ended up getting like $200 for it 2 and 3 months later (respectivly).

You get what you pay for.

the 12oo's technics are the TONKA of turntables, they take lickin and keep on spinin.
i've had mine 20 yrs.
never go wrong with tonka last for ever

doesn't have to be technics, there are cheaper tables out there which are very good. numark tt500 or stanton has some decent decks too.

got em for about 1 year now, and never had any problems. they are much better then my 1210s...
the motor is the same but they have a lot more features (pitch 10 - 20 - 50% - reverse - adjustable start stop time etc.)
i'm more than happy with them

yeah those are nice decks i spun on them at the convention when they cameout,

but really do you ever use the +10% or higher,

i'm pretty satisified with my 8% any thing else just start to sound like chipmunks,
i'm kool with that type of stuff.
plus i think that was made for the turntablist, i kno i've heard some house dj's use that pitch for drum and bass and techno.
what 1210 do you have the new ones or the old ones the new ones are the mdIII'S I THINK, those decks i'm not to found of either, some people cant tell a difference in turntables but i can, theres a big difference that i noticed,
if you put a regular 1200mkII and a new 1200 mkIII theres a differnce in pitch believe it or not , the newer table has a pull to it, the old one has a slight drag thats why you see cats helpin it out by twistin the spindle.

as for the reverse feature you can buy a kit to make your 1200's reverse on hittin the stop/start twice you just install it or have it installed,
i remeber back in the in mid 90's there were cats installin them ,i think i still have a flier that was given to me at a rave i went to, they were tryin to get business plus i think some where in japan they were sellin the kit.

i've said this many times before you get what you pay for when it comes to turntables, technics hasnt been the leader in this business for nothing.
all other companys are tryin to compete with this and they cant technics has been around for years and they aint done nothing they have the same product slight change here and there but not much.

i strongly beleive that technics is the best there will ever be.

the numark ttx have a feature that annihilates the chipmunk-effect, it´s like a timestrech on a turntable, don´t know the right term now.
i´m having the vestax pdx-2000 since 4 years now...i like them (except the rumbling that might happen because of - damn another english term i just don´t know you know when you put your hands on the table, you might hear that sound through your speakers...won´t happen to massive technics ), but maybe sometime in the (far) future i´ll cop some 1200s...although they don´t have that "gimmick"-ish.

and the other word regarding the ttx: "real time time-stretch"

or at least i think thats it. there's analog mode, and digital mode on the ttx

the time stretch sure beats time stretch on the xl
