yeah, the weird thing is I was searching the 950 forums on Yahoo to find out how to install the memory and there was a post about the EXACT same thing and I was like, damn, that dude was lucky....
opened mine up and BAM! I'm all stoked like I just got the golden ticket in a Wonka bar
the thing is, dude said it was fully expanded in the Ebay auction, if you guys remember. It was supposed to have SCSI too, but as it turns out, it has the Digi in and the memory was knocked loose during shipping or something
if you have one, I say check for the golden ticket...just open up the plate on the bottom and see if you have the chips
since I'm blabbing, my 950's previous owner died and that's why his relative was selling it...ghost in the shell

where do they connect to? the only two white ports? all i saw were those two white ports and a black port (looked like IDE of some sort?).
i searched the yahoo group but mine didn't look like the pic posted on there underneath that plate.
all i saw was a bunch of GREEN board. hmm, maybe i'm not looking in the right spot. it's a long shot but thanks for the heads up anyways!
^what does that interface do?

that's the interface I have, it's a digital input
I don't know what it looks like under the cards, since I had those previous two in there and didn't take them out but the cards have a ribbon type connector on them that plugs into the main (huge) board, so if you just see a huge board, you don't have them, if you see any "floating" objects on the main board then you might have one or two

same chit happened to me, bought 2 memory upgrades, opened it up to install, there they were wedged in the corner!!! now i got 3 maxed memory s950s and 2 extra memory expansion boards... imma hold onto the memory chips, they are getting rarer and rarer as time passes, i paid over a bill each, the value has to go up!
i thought i cleared up the difference between the s950s SCSI interface(ib-109) and the ATARI HD interface(ib-105) in an older thread... search the 60 forum for it, its there somewhere...

it is costly, @ $170.00. Still being manufactured.

haha, yall won't believe this..first off F*ck Sound Logic for sending me the wrong backlight for the S950...I was getting pissed and hamfisted and I think might have **** up my screen, not the strip part but anyway...
I open up the whole shell this time, from the top, and there is a cot damn mouse carcuss in my box! hilarious, I don't know why he didn't chew through the wires or something, dude was just chilling, all mummified and shit! I tried to take a pic, but it didn't come out at all
but it was foreal, a mouse in my S950, ish was stinking too...man damn!
S950-less at the moment

check it....got this email from Sound Logic today
"Sorry the backlight doesn't work correctly. Return it and I will refund your
money. Because of the small size of the EL panels we make these from we had
to make a compromise on the S950 backlight. I was hoping the dark areas
would be less conspicuous. We can get the ones from Akai, but they are blue
and $59. Since I ended up using First Class mail to ship the backlight to
you, I will refund the whole $40 through PayPal or send you a cheque,
whichever you prefer."
wack, why would they send it if they knew it was a "compromise"? that's not Sound Logic to me, but at least he's giving me a refund......and taking about 3 weeks from me in the process
