I could understand if you didn't have the 4000 but you do. I just believe if its capable of making hits than its good enough, and the 4000 is very capable. Just Blaze, Dr Dre, & Timbaland.... or just to name a few that are making great productions from the 4000. I just feel if you have the 4000 who gives ah @#$% about the MV. But to be honest, I am interested to see what you think of it though. Good luck and enjoy.

I do like Roland gear, I have a V-Synth. Real nice machine, MC909 is real phatt too..It’s not about Akai or even a MPC for that matter. It’s about what works for you.
If you need a unit with an 8 track digital recorder, a mastering section, then the MV is your sampler?? Just sounds like a lot for a machine to do under 3g's. Seriously, how great do you think the digital 16-bit recorder is?? How great do you think the "mastering" section is? Kid yourself all you want; something’s going to fall short. The end result, you'll be looking for a real digital recorder in a few months, and maybe even send out your beats to get mastered or do it yourself with some fancy software. At that point save yourself 1200 bucks and get a MPC1000. You'll be looking for something else to do all the stuff that you’re paying for with a MV. Like I said if I was just starting, this is a great joint. All in wonder with everything at your fingertips.
MPC_Producer wrote:Those other products are not drum machines. You are comparing different instruments without any idea what is in the MV or its manual. You will see in time exactly what I am talking about. Forget the mastering part and the all-in-one solution for now. Think of what you are missing on the MPC. If you let your imagination roam, then you willl discover what is on the MV. No one knows this yet except Roland and those few owners like myself. Like I said, just be patient. It takes time to explain everything because it is new and complex. There are things here that have not been available before. Just hold on and you will be glad that you listened. I won't write pages in advance. You have to wait for the review posts.
