thats certainly one of the results of cheap music production equipment existing. everything can become a competition of who can buy the most stuff. but really, what does that prove aside from the fact that you have money? just about nothing. im worried only about the results, not what went in. the other problem is that with this equipment possession contest, you get people who mask up deficiencies in their music with super high production values. ive been finding recently that most people with really high end studios end up doing just that, even the "pros" that everyone d*ckrides. people make the best stuff when theyre broke and using limited, crappy equipment and their inspiration. when their inspiration becomes money and buying gear, the end product goes way down.

On topic:

Not really my own lab, it's a rehearsal room which i rent for € 50/year. have some space there to stack the gear, but i do need to hook up everything again and again. It's acoustically perfect and soundproof though (floating walls and floor, dampening tiles, 8 inch thick door...)

@Smoove: loving it, although I haven't fully mastered layering yet.

Very poweful warm sound though!

glad you like. My rack currently consists of 3 modules.

Art Dual Leveler
Alesis Microverb 4
and the bottom is my amp (can't remember which one it is. right now i am at work). The reason i need this amp is that my NS-10's use regular speaker wire. I will be getting Mackie HR824's shortly, so this will eliminate the amp from the equation and i will patch the XLR outs from my mixer directly into the monitors.

Did you sell your dj mixer to buy more production gear :D

I blew the transformer on my dj mixer. When i had the coin to buy a new mixer, i bought a Mackie 1202-VLZ Pro mixer instead of the dj mixer. The dj mixer is coming soon. I'm itching to hit those techs again.
