sorry for the rant, but the diggin scene seems to be saturated where i'm at, with collectors and new used record stores opening up, im thinkin that i need to go on a road trip...

i get some thing like this but i dont think it's because peepz it gafflin it , i think it's because it gets lost in the bunch that was donated and some get tossed out , maybe even when the owner dicides to give it up they might forget about the vinyl and slipit in some other sleeve or something .

maybe your right but i hope thats not the case because i have found some real gems and theres nothing in it and i get my hopes up for nothing that really sucks pole.

Someone has pulled this stunt at a bunch of thrift stores that I go to.
I know it's not the people who donated that accidentally lost the record.
Every time I see something remotely funky, or a known break record.....I reach for the cover and carefully try to bend it. 9 times out of 10, the cover bends easily because someone already jacked the vinyl.
I've come to expect it now.

Yeah, it's kinda weak considering that they cost less than a buck.
Not to mention that the money goes to charity at many of these stores.

exactly, its only the funky sht, that makes your heart pump a lil faster, then.......BOH!! empty sleeve.

now i understand liftin some paint for the sake of the art, and the fact that its expensive.
big difference, though, these records are cheap, and you're not throwin your dirty deeds in the face of your compatriots when you steal a few cans of paint.

it's like the kids now wit a whole book of cd-r's talkin about yeh thats my man nas first album and its all scratched wit some handwritin on it...u look at the next page and its the same shit wit a different brand of cd-r and type of handwriting

This happens all the time and it's terrible. I just think that anyone doing that can't be true and will be taken care of eventually.

Yeah, I noticed this too. At the thrifts here in Philly, some of the dope LP covers are missing the vinyl. The wack records (i.e. the stuff I'm not interested in) are almost always in the sleeves, but some of the dope stuff is gone.

I'm lucky and haven't come across this.

I found a dope spot (it's only advertised as a used book store) that has vinyl up the ass. They charge 1 dollar a pop and they have gems galore. When they get new stacks you can buy a full stack for 5 bucks and they have some real nice ish in there. They do this because they'd rather not sort the records!

I've had this happen to me a few times.I'll find something,get home and it's either empty or a different album.It sux how cats do this with no remorse,instead of just aying for the joint.

The few decent spots up here check inside the sleeve for that . The first time i saw it, i was thinking that maybe i'm a shady lookin mofo so i asked what was up. They said the started doing it after a bunch of sleeves turned up w/out the vinyl.
