Drum compression

I don't use as much compression as some think I do.

about $350 and 15hours of labour. i triple checked everything before soldering, it's a little like paint by number. i spent more on aluminum dials and switches to give it a nicer look. let me know if i can help you out.

nice one- been thinking about a project for a while...this looks too cool- i cant seeem to find anywhere in europe to get the THAT stuff which seems to be integral to it all

i got my VCA's from here http://www.profusionplc.com/ they are based in the UK. was delivered faster than anything else on the list. they are patented so you pay a little more. enjoy.

i've completed three of those already. sounds nice, not so extreme on the character. if you want extreme compression character, i suggest something else like 1176/vari-mu etc. the ssl comp is good to "glue" things together.

nice on the drum bus/mix bus though. makes drums "dance".

i really really want one- a lot of my fave records have that ssl buss sound- seems intergral to making certain beats move

ok, i mean it's a nice comp, no doubt about that. beats the hell out of majority of the plug-ins AND hardware comps like the rnc. i just find certain other compressors more interesting. the ssl is pretty clean. i like some dirt etc like with tube comps/preamps.

im a gearslut. i'd like to have a lot of hardware, all with different character. going there pretty fast...
