Hey MPC2500-Heads,
I got a question about the Midi-cofiguration in the 2500.
Sorry, if this sounds like a stupid ?, but I am not able to try it out, because of not having this wonderful machine yet.
My problem is:
I got a funky microKorg which is set to Midi-Channel 16 and I don´t want to change this cofiguration because of my other gear.
So I want to use the mk as the masterkeyboard on the MPC and (Midi-Out) of course being sequenced by the MPC. I also know that I have to set the microKorg to Local-Off.
But now the problem: I read the users-manual
of the MPC 2500 and on site 53 (or so) is written that you can change the Midi- Ch. from 1 to 15 but what about Channel 16?
Is it just a written mistake in the manual or is it really not possible to assign the Midi Ins an Outs to Channel No. 16?
Thanx for help,
Peasn,

MIDI Channel A16 and B16 can be used.

when i first read jahrome's response i scratched my head for a minute but then i figured out what he was making a reference to. just to be really clear the answer to your question is 'yes, you can use channel 16' and jahrome was pointing out that currently there is a problem with MIDI out's C and D on the 2500 (although a fix should be coming so it's temporary...we hope :D) (i'm mostly adding the detail here for people who may search for this in the future and aren't aware of the C D problem...that will hopefully be irrelevant when they come here :D)

Yepp, I read Jahromes thread about MIDI Out C & D. But I´m sure this will be fixed soon, shouldn´t be a problem for AKAI. Anyway, I would use those outputs only for syncing my other Beat-Boxes or my computer.
So, now that my problem isn´t one at all, I´m even more looking foward to get the MPC2500, which in my imo is much better looking than the black 1000. blabla
Thanks guys,
