It is conceivable to use and make music on your mpc without ever using, owning, or turning on a computer.

EXCEPT it doesn't burn CD's so you will at least need something to do that.

So, with a 40gb harddisc, i should have a lot of space, to work on.. Thanks guys!

40 gb would be storage.

How much ram is in your mpc right now?
Mpc's workspace is RAM...

Yeh like the other guys said...
Basically if you look in the MPC1K forums there's a load of posts telling you to max out your RAM and what sticks to get. Then get a new CF card and again there's a bunch of posts saying what the best ones are. Then if you still need more space get yourself an HDM-10 kit and that 40gb hard drive.
