I did a search on the forums for some info on this, but couldn't find anything. I know on most software samplers there's ways to "kill" the open hi hat when the closed hi hat pad is hit. I was wondering if there's a way to do this using a 2kxl?
thanks!

use note off. once your finger leaves the pad that the open hat is on it will stop and when you hit the closed hat after that, it gives that effect.

you can also choose an open hat with the right length for the kinda sound you wanna get. dont choose a real long open hihat if you plan on "closing it" soon after its hit!

but note off works fine for me

so there's no way to use it like a one-shot and have the closed hat pad end the sound?

this is what you do, go to program, paramaters, trigger your closed hat. then highlight poly (or mono or note off), and hit open window, there, you can assign the closed hat to mute the open one when you hit it. peace

open window is your best friend, trust me

wake, I advised you to read the manual. and push buttons at the same time. If you had done that you would have saw how to do this.

Again, go through the manual. We are not your manual.

Glad you found it. You'll find alot more of your future answers in there also. We're your manual huh, haha, ok we'll see how that goes.. :D

Maybe you should view the boards more as say, tech support.
When you've read the manual understand it, raped and pillaged it. THEN come to us with questions and situations you couldn't have gotten from your previous pillagings  . Of course come when you wanna just chill, read and laugh also but that's a different issue.

i plan on raping.. but it's slow going at first. i also don't have a hard copy of the manual, and i really don't like spending a lot of time on my computer, just my mpc for now.
