My homie runs the keyboard/drum machine section at L&M here in town. He got in the mpc2500, and it came with a memory card. I just read that you guys are saying it has the new OS on it. No can i go an install that? I know he wont have a prob with tht at all.

and... Do you guys know forsure that akai will be selling the black kit for the old 1000's? Because i stripped all the paint of mine and gave it a nice black finish, but I have no labels.

whats the 2500 OS got to do with the 1000 OS
you cant use it on the 1000 they 2 diffrent machines

no, you can't load the 2.5k os onto the 1k. it has different codes on the 2.5k to go with the extra features and hardware (extra midi outs, q-link knobs, dedicated number pad, etc..) just wait, the 1k OS is coming very soon. and they will make the black kit for the blue 1k's

Wow I would love to buy this device it comes w/ that hard drive I know all of us here is worried about pricing. Well so am I, I hope I can get it for a good price.

what device? nothing comes with the hard drive. you have to buy that separately.

the pricing for the black 1k should be the same as the blue one. there are no hard ware changes to warrent a different price.

I wouldn't mind a price hike on the 1kbk if they threw in an HDM-10 kit for free!
