Jedi Mind Tricks - Boondock Saints Interlude

Can anyone help me find some records so I can get this kind of scale? I hear it a lot throughout hip hop..Has a nice instrospective feel to it. But Im just starting out and I have no idea what kind of original music they'd be sampling from. Anyone know which kind of records I should be searching for? Man I love this track..If anyone knows Isoceles they have this kinda scale alot. I can hear that I need some sort of piano..But the other instrumenents I dont know where I'd look. But I'd still love some suggestions about the piano bit as well. Thx a ton..Im glad to be here. This site looks ill as hell man.

I don't know what song you're refering to but i think starting out with a 4/4 time sig and using some old funk and jazz records for samples will get you gon' in the right direction.Also take some time to experiment/practice and definitely work on your drum programing.You gotta have some solid drums to get your joints to knock.

I will for sure man...i've been producing for about 4 years now.. i just haven't sampled or used an mpc2000xl before..im gettin one really soon and i have a decent collection of records already.. but im just wondering about old record labels i should look for.. or which type of instruments?? and genre of music?? for a nice introspective-type beat. the drum part i can read and figure out really quick.. but finding the records i wanna sample to accomplish this scale, i dont know where to start. any help would be appreciated. thx !!!!

If you have some records start listening now.Go through and dig and find stuff that you like and start comin' up with ideas before you even get the mp.Search for some classic jazz and funk.As far as names,i can't name names because that's up to you.Someone telling you exact records will not help your style.If you need pianos,trumpets,sax,whatever.....look for albums that have these sounds.

i just need some rough reccomendations..not specific records..
