Good Kick Drum Sounds: question

there was a sample disk I saw in Scratch Magazine called "all the breaks" or something like that, try to find that... if you want a cd rom...
I prefer taking them off vinyl myself and eq before I sample them and filter after sampling, then, eq again when tracking/mixing. Nothing really makes the hip hop sound quite as good as taking it off vinyl.

there's this plug-in called a tape simulator that can make any kick sound nice, I mean any kick.
