this is off topic but i got an idea from the suggestion of hitting the pad in different places...
i think this would be would be great for drum programs, it's not possible on any mpc that exist now as far as i know???.... anyway it would be nice if each pad had different touch sensitive zones where if you would hit the pad in the middle you would get the full sound, and the further out you hit the pad the shorter the decay would get and it would also be nice if you could have different settings on each pad for example: a snare could have shorter decay and also increasing attack time the further out you get so you could get some nice ghost hits or a more brushed snare if you leave out the decay.... also crossfading between sounds, a snare set up with the shorter decay setting could with each also hit fade to a closed hihat or perhaps another snare..... oooohhhhh the possibilitys increase the more i think about it
i know you can already do this.. BUT if you say, wanted to use a snare with the shorter decay function you would have to use up all the pads on the 16 levels function.... or have only one sound on the fader which also leaves you whith only one hand for playing the pads...
personally i dont hit the pads, i push/squeeze them but i would still find it usefull and i think it' would be even more usefull for those who hit the pads and play them live
