Somebody help me!! I installed the alternative OS and my screen looks identical to the screen on my ole 2000! It kinda burned out in seconds!
Seriously, speaking though, chances are most computer and related things are not going to selfdestuct over bad software, but even harmless bench and stress testing software have disclaimer stating overheating and hardware failure. I have a 5 month old aopen dvd burner that sits in my recording computer that never acts the same anymore since i flashed it wrong and then reflashed it. I personally apppluad the balls to make an alternative os, it makes things more interesting for all of us. I just won't install it until someone post in caps: POWERFUL, STABLE, ALTERNATIVE O.S.

Loading Linux instead of Windows wont damage my PC, and neither will some OS hack for the mpc1000.

If some cats want to experiment, then let them do it without all of the BS doomsday predictions.[/b]

I have my opinions and you have yours aiight...

Hey, believe whatever you want to believe.

Some people used to think the world was flat...

Is this going to escalate into derrogatory indirect
insults here or what? It shouldn't. Let's quit now.

Yup this 3rd party OS could be very very interesting

i was given this link
http://www.geocities.com/samplestation/ ... stems.html

according to which you can apparently make your own os for the 2k

if it is possible for the 2k, i'm sure it is for the 1k

what would be great is that some programming crack could sneak into an official akai os to implement new features

actually, i don't know much about programming, but i feel like there is nothing a talented computer freak can't hack nowadays

I actually think that is a raw image writting software, you use it to make native os bootable floppies. I have one just so i can make os disks for my s50 to boot up.

when it comes to the release of the os, i only speak on what i was told. so yes, in that post, Distorted, i was told then it would be out in 2 weeks. and since you didn't see it drop then, you never seen me give an exact time frame like that anymore. when i did mention the release, all i've said was, it's coming soon and sooner than you think.s

I'm aware of all that. I'm just pointing out to Prolific that what you were originally told was not something you mentioned recently, to avoid some confusion that may stir up to the many newibies and lurkers we've been having here as of late.
