MPC 60 ii hum

whats up ya'll l just purchased a used MPC 60ii and everything works great except for the fact that the damn thing hums like a hornet. what can l do to eliminate the hum it's not just one of them things l can just ignore, it's pretty loud. thanks

thanks for pointing me in the right direction, anyone else have to deal with this problem, and if so, did you have to have the unit serviced?

Have you tried turnign everything off except the 60? See if it still hums. Is it hooked to a surge protector along with other equipment that's on? Like a computer? Make sure your electric wires aren't all bunched up together.

I've only used the MPC-60 solo thus far, (not yet in the studio), i've tried using it with the power strip, and straight from the wall and it still makes the Bzzzzzzzzzz. I've been researching the topic on this forum and from what l can gather it's either something l'm gonna have to learn to live with, orhave to get serviced (replacing an inverter is way too technichal a venture for me to do without help). I was talking to a friend and he said it could be dust and dirt on the connectors, what could l do to clean the unit out? compressed air?

because some backlight create a humming noise, so I dunno if the problems is in the MPC, or coming through the speakers. If it's coming from the speakers, ebtech has a hum eliminator for $59. I was getting a humming noise from my line mixer and my turntable mixer, but now it's 'almost' completely gone.. I'd say it reduced it a good 95% and it didn't effect the actual sound.

your ground could be the problem. is your 60 plugged into a 3 prong outlet?

It could be signs that your power supply is struggling, or that your house's power has its ground not wired properly. Try different outlets and see if it improves.

The backlight hum doesn't come out of the audio outputs,
