Tips on how to organize samples

How do you organize your samples? I find that mine are all over the place. I haven't really come up with a system. I've just been listen to different things and sampling whatever I think sounds cool.

folders

So you put all of your horn samples in one horn folder? Or do you put all of the samples from one song that you sampled into one folder?

i put each beat (song/pg) in its own folder, helps me

i put em in folders and go by the date or a reference word

I do the folder per song thang too.

I also have a disk with dif folders of just different drum kits (arranged in folders too), it's handly for when you've got an instrument sample sorted, and need to experiment with dif drum sounds.
You can then save the used drum sounds to that song folder. (oh so many folders)

all my samples are in one folder.

then in that folder, I have more folders that are named after the place I got the samples from. so if I bought some samples from a site, ill name the folder after the site. my samples are inside of the vinyl folder. then inside the vinyl folder, they are in seperate folders named after the songs I sampled from. drums are in their own folder, etc...

its getting crazy. I thought I figured out the saving system and now my files are everywhere, sometimes I cant even find the sequence to record the tracks

Has anyone figured out how the saving system saves? We already know its not alphabetically. The more I save the longer it takes to find stuff.

Folders dont work on the 1k?
