That is awesome! All of my twatting around, firstly with a SP12turbo and now hunting for a Emax1, is all based on wanting the Emulator 2 sound without the massive foot print.. This would work great in my studio - would get it tomorrow given half the chance..

in order to get the same sound on a computer, you would have to know what you were doing on the comp, but i think even then its different, doesnt the magnetic field or just the parts in the SP1200 gave it that same sound?

ok since ppl sell these damn sp1200 for crazy prices like 1000 1200 what can i get less expensive to get the sound or are there any plugins available see because im on the Pete rock sound basically most of my beats are on the level as well as the ol bush babees sound feel me if any body has beats within that range that i can hear let me know b/c a brother like me loves that sp 1200 sound ITS SO GRITTY

and i heard a beat god saying that the ring modulator tones from the pitch contrtols on the sp1200 were useful for getting those hard miami bass 808 boooom kicks.....he did say however you can get that sound in battery but that it would take alot of programming

that s950 sounds prety damn flat. haha the sp1200 has a distinctive crisp and a sick **** low end. its easier to achieve the s950 sound by pitching up and resampling. the sp sound sounds a little trickier to do.

To get that grimy ass sp sound out of your mpc 4000 heres a tip......open up your mpc dump a bucket of sand in it and put it out side in the sun for a while. Then put it all back together and then you might be able to get the same sound....if that dosent work take some sand paper to your disks this will help as well....
