Hey MPC Headz,
it´s me once again.
As I told in some threads before I really wanna get a 2500.
At the moment I´m working mostly with my IBM-Notebook and Ableton...
but what really annoys me, is the noise of the airventilation of the computer.
So I would like to know, if the ventilation of the mpc 2500 is done by only the louvers (sorry for bad english) on top of the unit or is there some kind of ventilator in the unit and if so is it loud?
Sounds maybe a bit crazy but I really want to make music without hearing any annoying pink noise.
Have to ask cause I couldn´t find out in the shop
it was too loud because of people playing Bach or so on the piano.
Thanx for ya replies!

I owned a 2000xl for years and have never noticed any ventilation noise. I toyed around with the 2500 for a few hours and never noticed any with that unit either. I guess u would always here something with any hardware or software if you listened hard enough, like putting your ear to it. But just sitting back nah never noticed any.

Don't worry, the 2500 has no Fan or similar anywhere. It is completely quiet. You wouldn't expect anything else from a device that's intended to make music.

The only moving parts in it would be Harddisk or CD Drive. I just installed the recommended Toshiba 40GB drive, and you only notice it slightly while powering up, or reading and writing to it. And that only if the rest of the room is completely quiet.

Peace,
Stilo.
