(?) am hearing a 'click' at the end of some wav samples

Hello
I will load into Program, say, a clean kick wav sample, assign it to a pad, and when I hit the pad the sample does play but about a second after it finishes playing the sample I will hear a click. The click will vary in amplitude and pitch in according with whatever sample is loaded, i.e. a low-kick sample will produce a low pitched click. Any advice?

from what are you loading your samples? taken through recycle? etc etc tell us the whole story

if you want to just go into trim and cut off the extra bit

The sample is probably not cut at a zero crossing. Zoom in on the end of it and trim the sample at a point where the waveform crosses the axis. It should go away.

Thanks all. However the samples I am loading are clean, meaning they have a clean tail. It appears that the MPC is doing something to make the click happen at the end. The strange thing is that it doesn't happen on all samples but certain ones. It's a puzzle I must admit. Is there a system reset on the MPC 1000? I am think that might solve it. Thanks again...

yeah, use the volume envelope, don't cut anything. try non destructive methods to get what you need first.

on the 1k all samples have a preset decay of 5, but i dont think its very effective at all.

Os 1.05 used to click alot of my samples. Is yours upgraded?

how did you load the samples? did you sample them into your mpc or did you get them from your pc? i have the experience (and i think that i read it somewhere in the forum) that when you cut files from your pc to the memory card, a click occurs, while if you copy and paste, there´s no click.

i've had similar problems with kits i've made on my mac.
try saving the problem samples in a different program or change
the save file file settings

Mine was just doing that. If sample is in note on mode(as opposed to one shot) then when the sequencer plays back the note it is effectively cutting the note at a non-zero crossing. Making a nasty pop. Remedy is to resequence the loop, or edit the note off in the sequencer

sometimes I get that when the loop is on. turn the loop off and see what that does for you.
