did you upgrade your memory? or do you still have the original 16mb? if you still have the 16, then you need to upgrade.

i have a 256 Mb (Sandisk)
when i start the mpc he show's m e 16 mb installed :?

try reinstalling it..

if it still doesnt read it, get another 256 (kingston)

watch my video on installing ram. look in my signature and click the link for videos. if you do have it in right then the ram chip may be bad.

Seems like your talking about the Compact Flash card (Sandisk). Does it look like this?

This is only for saving and loading files into your MPC.
If you want to have more internal memory you have to install a memory expansion board. This can be installed behind the flap on the bottom of your MPC.

then you have to upgrade the RAM. the internal memory and the CF card are two different things and are used for two different reasons. the reason you are getting insufficient memory is because you are working with samples or pgms that exceed the 16mbs. look at the top of this section for a sticky called MPC1000 RAM and CF card Recommendations and read up on that.
