mpc3000, is this mod compatible with MPC editor?

i've never heard of someone doing this type of mod. the external unit would work perfectly for toggling between PC and MPC.

I was the first to put card readers in samplers. At that time I bought a dozen of them for as little as $5 each used. Heck, many times I spent more on shipping than I did on the card reader itself. I even gave some card readers away ('mpc3000le' has one from me).

Put me down 2 then since u got it like that, Mike. I shouted Rohan out b/c he mentioned some time ago that he might be getting a 60 and I recognize his skills with the 3000 OS. So now that u understand my logic…maybe u can help me understand your response. Seem 2 me like u’re mad that we didn’t know a card reader could work with a 60. I also told the thread-starter that he could see a card reader in action on mpc3000.com (maybe u’ve heard of it). This may not be the “tech-savvy” board but the cats on here know some sh!t and it surprises me that no one had heard of this mod. Anywayz, I would like 2 see some fliccs or list workable drives b/c this is something that I would like 2 do. –uno–

I don't think you would classify plugging something into the SCSI port as a mod? You would simply have to be aware that scsi card readers exist - which has been mentioned on the 2000xl forum and on midicase.com. Now does someone have a s950 scsi port for me so I can do the same? ...............I guess not.

I just won an external Microtech drive on eBay. I'll let you guys know how it works when I get it.

Well, I got it today. I still need the right cable to hook it up to my 60 (plus cards to actually save on) but I tried it on my 2000XL.

I think it works. It said "SCSI NOT READY" but I think that's because I have no card in it? Does anyone know? I'm gonna get a card for it later and try again. I should've bought the SCSI cable before too. Wasn't thinking.

No card = no ready.

Stick a card in it, make certain it's on the right SCSI ID and that the drive is terminated correctly ...

Ok. Got the right cable, card etc.

It works. It saves/loads things so fast. I am so glad I got one of these. I suggest anyone with a 60 to get it. It really saves time. And it's not noisy ike the floppy at all.
