8-Outs....is it worth the $200 bucks to upgrade?

Sup Kats.....Eh, My XL is full blown on Memory but lacks the 8-out expansion board. Is it worth the money to upgrade it by adding one?

Also....I will try to ask this and keep it simple. Ever heard a track where the mixing sounded like it was echoed or digitally delayed several times?

Take the sound "Nah" ( I don't wanna sound retarded here but this is the best way I can explain it)

Take the sound "Nah" Is an MPC capable of Regenerating this sound to go:
NahNahNahNahNaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah}Boom <------Beat drops here.
You know within the "Note" so as to not throw timing of the beat off.
Tell you what I talking about, My man Rugged and Raw out of NYC has some production from RIP (Raw Impact Productions) which uses this type of production http://www.ruggednraw.com/bio.php
Back in the Day, WBLS in NY use to do what they called "Master Mix" and they used alot of Reverb, Echo, and Digital delay effects on tracks like you might hear from a "DELTA LAB" EFFECTRON II (Who knows about effectrons?...I got 5 of them) MANTRONIX Style if some of yall know who that kat is.....I am at work right now on a computer with no sound card so I don't know which song has what I am looking for ...I will check it out tonight and put a link in to an example of what I am trying to do. I just got a Manual for the XL today. I know my example aint the best ...but trying to type what youre trying to do is f*cked up..ha hahahaaa.... I'll Holla back later.

8 outs is necessary if you want to breakout each track into a Multitrack and process each track indivudally.

It's makes for a much more focused result than just using main outs.

I can show you how to do that "nahhhhh" effect. Get at me on PM.

Yes its worth every penny. Just go mine last Friday and it is the shit. I have been running my drums through my compressor and trying to learn how to tweak those.

If you're just playing stuff through a mixer, yes. But you can also just solo and mute the parts to track them individually. Takes a tad longer, but it results in the same thing. Nonetheless, the eight outs is a good thing.

well its not absolutely neccessary if you dont mind tracking your songs out 1 track at a time, using either midi clock or midi time code to sync the mpc and your recorder...its more of a time saver if anything...

where can u get the 8- out from?

Analog Japan had it last time I looked. I think it was expensive from memory. If you need it, get it for sure. If you don't need it, don't get it. I happen to have it and have never really used it much as yet. It came on my XL when I bought it.
