Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

What's the deal, mpc-headz.
I just took my 60 out of commision for a while to cradle my new 2000xl on some beats. My problem is when transmitting midi on specific channels, regardless of what patch I have selected in performance mode, it changes the patch on they keyboard. It however did not change the patch on Midi Channel 2, as it was the first one I used and it stayed put. From 3 on up, it changed the patch to random patches at will.
My 60 didn't exhibit this behavior ever, and I've read the manual. Searched the site. Even changed settings at random in the mpc2000xl that might affect it but can't figure out the cure.
I'm looking for the fix, who's got it? Thanks

Peace.

1. Create a new sequence without any data.
2. Hit play.
3. Observe that patch does not change on synth

That is basic troubleshooting and would show that somewhere on the original sequence you are sending program changes. Where? I dunno, I can't see your MPC. You have to find it.

It immediately changes the patches on the fantom, without any midi data having been recorded on any midi channels, after hitting play on a new sequence.
How do I change the setting on the 2000xl affecting, these patch/program changes?

Thanks in advance.

Found it on page 56. I never even noticed the pgm off to the right of the main screen. Oh well scrap it up to tunnel vision and focusing too hard on finding and adjusting midi settings.
One.

" pgm off to the right of the main screen"

That IS a midi setting for midi enabled tracks.

That is also why I suggest creating a new track without ANY data.
