I've had a search, but couldn't find this exact problem.

When chopping a sample, after editing all the start and end points to the desired position i slice the sound.

If i create a new program no problems, time to get creative.

But, if i dont want a new programme (selecting NO) then slice all the chops seam to get placed in there original position ie equally into each zone. All the star and end points have reverted.

Am i going mad, doing something wrong or is this just what happens???

Cheers people

hmm, let me try

if i hit slice and select new program YES the slice points are as i set em.

if i select NO to new program the slices are not where i set them, but back to the equal length divides when you first pick how many zones you want

any clearer?? :)

Now go and assign the new sounds to pads...

hmmm, I've lost the grasp of the english language! i'll try in lammens terms

right here we go:

drum break sample of

boooooommmbip

select i want 2 zones and it auto splits to

boooooo mmmbip

edit start and end points to

boooooommm bip

now if i slice and select create new program YES its all good

however, if i select NO to new program the slice reverts back to

booooo mmmbip.

There, any clearer folks???

I don't even care if you post saying if this is normal or not, i just want someone to say they understand what im saying!!!!!

I understand you now...........
If you auto zone/chop it's going to do that. When you manually select start and end points you get the exact slice you select.Once you get it zoned how you want it you have to assign it to whatever pad.I don't own the XL but that's just seems logical.

Spectre got it.

You are looking at your original unsliced booommbip... but the new boomm and bip have been created... you can't hear them until you assign them to pads.

If I understand correctly.

In the zone screen first u want to pick how many zones u want. Then u want to edit the start end points. after u do that discard each unwanted segment and hit slice sound. Go into the program screen and assign each new sound to a pad.

U were just doin it out of order cheif.

HEY STRYKE I DIDNT RECOGNISE U WITH YOUR NEW SHIRT ON
