What is Cool Edit Pro good For???

Whats up family,

I have been reading and I see a lot of you make reference to or talk of Cool Edit Pro. I would like to know what is it good for???? What could it do in my set-up. Do you think its a good program or not. What are its strengths and weakness.....

No doubt man, thanks for tha shout. CEP is a multitrack/wave editor and it's very good for home use.. Most peeps I know don't have protools money and they also have PC's so they go to CEP. Very customizable with I think 128 tracks. Has many effects and procsessing tools. You should look into it for realz..

LampDog is right. Cool Edit Pro is a great program for the money. I used it alot until I stepped up to Sonar. You'll probably hear catz calling it Audition now. Adobe bought the program from Syntrillium and renamed it, but its basically the same program. Peace...

Is Cool Edit Pro better than Acid Pro? Basically what I'm looking to do is make mix [blended] cd's, and be able to save as a .wav file.

I'm using Acid now, but am having problems with the multi-track function....possibly this program is more of a cut and paste prog. for lazy beat makers?? Give me some insight on this Cool Edit program. Thanks.

Cool Edit Pro (now Adobe Audition) is better for multitracking options and wave editing options.. It's not so user friendly when you have alot of options sitting on the user interface..

Acid Pro is better for loop and phrase based multitracking and is user friendly with not very much stuff cloggin up the interface. As far as making mixtape type CD's you can do the same within each program...

It's a toss up seeing as they are both good, AP has better loop options, CEP/AA has better multitrack options.. That's just me as I'm sure everyone has their own opinion..

By the way, I have both and use both sometimes..

Yep, I'm in Oceanside actually. But I need to get on this making a new Mix CD. I've slept on these records in my room, and only play them at shows, which I rarely get to do. I'll have to get that CEP, and give it a whirl. With Acid, I'm having a prob. recording live onto a second track. For some reason it will also record whatever is on the first track at the same time that I'm recording the 2nd track. Causing me to have to delete the 1st track, because the sound is doubled up. I've tried soloing the track, any ideas on this problem??

Do I have to mix down in order to burn to cd or can I just burn right out?

I will give an example....lets say I have made a 8 track beating using the mpc and keyboard. I recorded them onto my Vs and now I send it to the computer for final editing before mastering...once I finish editing what do I do next.......

I have seen the burn icon but its only when i click to wav button of the current wav that is highlighted.....What is your view on this
