i figured out why no new os for mpc 1000..

was at the homeboy's pad and saw he had an issue of this magazine called scratch, it looks its all about pro\ducin for hip hop or some such type sh*t..

but this one had ol white boy on the cover.... and right next to it he had the one wit nas and premo on the cover.. but i digress he had them face down n on the back side which is where i saw ALMOST the same type ad..

from yall cats here i get the impression that akai is phasin out the mpc 2000xL...

on the white boy cover is got pete rock holdin an mpc 2000xL and at the bottem they show all the mpc's.

on the cover wit nas and premo THE 2000 xl is COMPLETELY gone.. replaced by somethign called the 2500, aka the new one..

so i was thinkin wud... thats bannas..

but its like this.. jus my theory..

what if akai is PURPOSELY delayin the new os for the 1000 cuz they want to spur up sales for the new one 2500.... thats they new flagship right? think bout it.. if they put on the new os for the mpc 1000k, heads NEW ONE's that is.. might cop the mpc 1000 as the cheaper alternative.. instead of this new 2500 one which i assume is probably twice what the mpc 1k is right?

so if they put out the new os heads would not even look at the mpc 2500 and jus cop THE FAR$ cheaper mpc 1000 cuz it could DO all of that!!

If you have read anything on these forums over the last 5 months or so, you would have known a great deal about the 2500. It's not new news. And if you read into the bannanas thread, the idea that Akai would hold back the release of the new O.S. and 1000bk to assure sales for the 2500 has been tossed around repeatedly. And Scratch has been around for a while. Well over a year.

Keep it current.

tehre's enough hype about the 2500 right now for it to stand on its own even if 2.0 is dropped, as it should be, for the mpc1000.

i figured out why akai announced the mpc1kBK and os2.00 !!

they were selling to many mpc2500 before christmas and want people to stop buying it and instead wait for the new mpc1k os2.00.

(joke - what i meant really is that the theory in this thread is just another wacky speculation...)
