Im just starting out, and Im not sure which software I should use reason's 3.0 or Pro tools. I want the digi 002 interface, but that is only used with pro tools, but im kinda leaning toward reasons. Can both pro tools, and reasons 3.0 be integrated? if I don't get the digi 002, which interface should I use? I want something with alot of I/O's

Reason and protools aren't really the same type of software.

Protools is focused on recording audio tracks in from various instruments then mixing/editing..

Reason is a suite of virtual instruments that can be mixed and sequenced.

afaik Reason won't even record multitrack audio in, at all!

btw, im thinking newbie forum?

you can make an entire song in reason and track it into pro tools but like what was said ^^^ you can not track anything into reason. go to www.propellerhead.se to read up on reason and go to www.digidesign.com to read up on pro tools. you will see that they are completely different programs used for different things. but to answer one of your questions, you can integrate (in a matter of speaking) reason with pro tools.

for some reason that is pissing me off too.

backt to the question.

I don't know your experince with music produciton, but getting a digi 002 is not a good start. I would get reason and learn on that until you are actaully ready to record tracks with vocals. Reason will deff keep your hands full for a while. I have been using it for almost 3 years and I find out stuff all the time about it. So start with that learn it then when you need to do vocals upgrade.

He's retarded. It's better to look them up on the net and
read for yourself than to trust that dude.
