I need a new turntable...

I'm not sure if this is the right board to post in, anyways, I currently own a PT-01 and I'm having problems with it. I'm considering buying a good turntable and I'd like to have some good options to choose from. I only want the turntable for sampling... and I'd like to have a nice design also... Anyways any sugg?

IMO 1200/1210's all the way, it will last you a life time and who really needs, wants all these rewind, beatcounters blah blah, its like buying a car, you buy a porsche you get the basic without extras, you buy some tin can it comes fully loaded with the gadgets, but lets look at them after 100K miles..

i see what your sayin...right now my budget is around 200 but hmmm ur making me think....

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Right now I'm just using one of those cheap belt drive numarks. I'm gonna upgrade to some technics and a vestax mixer this summer. (When I get a job)

yeah the porsche being the tech12 will still run great as long as you take care of it , man i've had my 1200's for almost 20years they still work like they alwaays have great, best investment i ever made in dj gear, i've had many mixers but the same tables what does that tell you,

you can find some good used tech 1200 in the paper or craigslist for around that budget you just got to look around,
you cant go wrong with technics. in this case brand name is better technics is longest around in the game

to my knoledge a lot of the other cheaper turntables other then technics add a lot of air to your sound. its really easy to hear, technics all the way best sound quality, longest lasting, and just the standard in all professional studios.


as far as needles are concerned. you should look into the whitelabels by shure they have better sound quality then the m-447/g i use those by the way. the 44 series. the whitelabels are going to pick up every sound where as the m44's wont.
