Highlight the field under 'Notes' and hit the pad with one of the samples you want on a new track and you should see the pad name where it once said 'ALL' (like A01, B16, etc). then go to the 'To' section and select the track number you want to move that sample to and press F6. now you've got all of one part on a new track. this may sound like a lot at first but once you do it a few times you'll rocking this procedure really quick. i like to have all parts on different tracks so this is a way to do it but not as ideal as having a 'MODE' or a quick assign feature like you're describing.


Does that work on the 2kxl? Im not at home yet

Wow, you can't record track mutes? That's insane! How do you guys bring sounds in and out when putting together a complex beat with lots of percussion coming in and out?

ive just got to reiterate the importance of better USB integration in todays environment...

would love to...

a) be able to drag and drop files (eg midi files and chopped breaks) from the comp to the MPC disk without the convoluted USB page / connect and disconnet routine

b) be able to quickly send samples from memory to the comp for editing, and save back again to MPC memory - ala ak.sys

There is only one MPC that records track mutes...the MPC 4000.

With the other MPCs, you create songs in sections (4 to 16 bar loops..orwhatever) than piece these loops together using the Song function.

Thanks. I'm the guy that just sent my brand new 2000xl back to the store in exchange for a 2500, so I haven't have a chance to play with an MPC yet. I wasn't sure how that worked.
