so, are you triggering sounds in Pro Tools then? if so, it is not the MIDI that is giving you the sound, it is the plugins in Pro Tools.

What i'm saying is that I found getting midi into PT (from my 1k beats/sequences) and then soloing the tracks to audio appears to be giving good resuls compared to say recordind directly from the stereo 3-4 outs of the 1k to a PT audio track, that's all. This meaning, without even inserting plug-ins on the individual drum tracks after its sequenced into PT. Maybe it had to do with the overall composition and how the tracks worked with each other while working on that particular song, but just gettin' into midi lately, I seem to notice sh&t sounding better. It's at least the impression i'm getting with my most recent experimentation. If any of y'all can comment on this, go nutz, i'd love to hear any suggestions/observcations
