So far how much money u think u made selling beats?

Man i remmeber selling beats to some jamaican cat for $200 a pop made like a good 2500 or so from him thats it though. I havent sold a beat for years.I'm starting to get back into it though. Just got some dough up and bought some new ish. But yeah man this game is crazy. Cats dont want to dish out money they want to befriend you so that you can givem free beats. I have a daughter and my own crib aint nothing for free anymore feel me.

ive only sold like 3 beats and they were realy old ones.. i made like 25 bones thru paypal lol.. they were just for promo and freestyle practice aparently.. anyways id always be down to sell beats.. personaly i do this sh!t for myself and my own listening pleasure and sharing to friends etc.. but i love to hear mcs on my tracks wether they pay for it or not. i realy dont mind giving out beats for free and producing a trrack with a decent MC.. laying down scratches etc...so yeah 25 dollas son! well ive only been doin this for over a year so

I just made my first deal on beats the other day. I had a guy come over thinking we were going to just collab and ended up with a deal to produce ten of his tracks for a demo album. I was thinking we would just make a few tracks for the fun of it and ended up making some loot. I'm going to leave the amount undisclosed until all is said and done.

I make about 150 - 200 on a beat but I make ALOT more money recording. I make $30/hr recording. Most artists already have beats they've gotten for free or just use commercial instrumentals but they still need to record. Either way I get their money! I think the key to getting good money for your work is to look for the artists that are really pushing their own sh*t. The ones that are used to spending money and really know what the biz is all about are the ones willing to pay the money. I have a friend that accepts no less than $1,500 per beat. It's not that his sh*t is that much hotter than mine(dont get me wrong though... his stuff is clean and very well arranged), he just networks his way into that circle of people really trying to do something and spend the money. Also, the people into R n B usually spend more money. The hard part is getting a female artist to spend because there is always someone else willing to do something for them for free hoping they will get some @ss.

mam you hit it on the head on that female comment. Back at home in Milwaukee we had this chick that wanted to record, she came by and ****** tracked like 5 songs for here with mulitiple takes for a whole weekend and she thought that she was free, becaus the ninjas she was used to working with always let her go for free. Make a long story short she gave up the rights to the work since she didn't have no loot. hahaha.

Wuts good Jacpot, I was just wondering about the distribution of your beat CD's. Im always afraid that cats will just take the beat and say **** this dude & run with it. You seriously put the full masters on the CD's you handout? Please Help.

Man if peeps wanna be corny and try to take credit for the beats that u made than fuk it. I mean u could always get your shyt copyrited before u release it. But when I drop cd's I take all that into consideration. I can spare 5 or 6 beats u know? I would rather get my name out their than be scared about beat jacking. shyt happens dog. It aint like im giving away my only beats. If I drop a cd with like 10 beats on it. Best beleive I got about 100 other joints in the stash

Yeah good thought. I copyright all mine before I pass the cd's. Too many shady people wantin the fast buck.

I think since 2004 when I got my first sale I've made about $3,500.
