1000 and Digital Performer 4.5

Trying to record from mpc1000 into DP4.5 with a midisport uno
I can get blocks and arrows to come up while recording but no sound plays

any help as to what settings i could change would be greatly appreciated

here is a stupid question. do you have an audio interface? if so, do you have your assignable outs going to it and have you configured your tracks on the mpc to go to those outs? that's where your audio is coming from. you can't just use midi cables alone.

yup..midi is just data being sent..............audio is sent only through an audio interface.......i got it twisted when i first started out too.

somewhat. when working with music, you shouldn't use a standard soundcard. you would have to use something with multiple inputs so with the 1k, you would want to get something that has at least 4 inputs

that depends on your budget. a good inexpensive one to go with is the lexicon omega. (and not just because i have one) but it's a good piece of equipment. it has usb and sits on your desk. and small enough to take with you. and it works on a MAC also.

i thought so to but i'm telling you, there is virtually 0 latency with the omega. besides, firewire cards are much more expensive and if dude's budget can't afford it then he's assed out.
