If this is true, I can't believe it. Six months ago, i paid nearly 1000 Bucks for the MPC and now I have to wait another 1 1/2 months... :x

And you've got on alright with it for the past 6 months, so you'll get on ok with it for the next month and a half.

Just because I spent my money six months ago on akai, well that does not mean, I don't have to right to own the os by that point of time. I'd also payed the **** bucks for that same machine! ...and everybody knows, that this os is necessary + overdue.
that's what i don't understand.... you mentioned it's overdue. how is that? if it was never brought to the boards a couple of months ago, everyone would have just found out about it a few weeks ago. so how is it overdue? like i said, when we bought our 1k when we did, there was nothing in the box from akai stating ...we promise new features to all those who bought this machine.

and six months ago no one even knew about what's going to be on the new OS. in fact, six months ago there was no proof a new OS would be coming at all, other than what was in scratch magazine back in february. so we have to wait, so what.

don't go there.

everybody was familiar with the fact, that zoning and timestrech would come to the 1k - it was just a question of time. Now it's here, but ppl don't have access to it. I don't care that much about the other features, even if they are pretty nice, but zoning (and maybe timestrech) is that one thing, that is really essential nowadays.
sure, you can't blame akai for that what they are doing, but I paid 953 euro and still have to wait another 6 weeks or so. this is my point. that's not how it should be - you can't treat ppl like that. sean told, that we should check the website the next two months...well, nothing happend.

Akai USA is giving away the 128 MB card for free. Retailers in Japan sell this board for $50-$100. Sometimes, they are also throwing them in with the purchase of the MPC 1000 blue.

I think Akai should charge another $150 for the OS. If it is anything like the MPC 2500s OS (minus you know what  ), it would be well worth the price

do you even own a 1k?
I think you should bring more realistic options to the table. How many people payed a **** tonne for the mpc? i for one am not going to pay 150 **** US dollars (that buys about 600 cans of pepsi over here) for less than a **** floppy-disk worth of information.
If it was a hardware upgrade i'm all for paying, but this is software, if akai charges for it, i for one am going to do everything in my power to provide pirate copies of the OS to users far and wide.

it would be impossible for them to charge. They would make like 300 dollars because it would be pirated just like any other software Image
