This is bananas 1k OS you don't want to pass by this thread

The Japanese dude said its coming so stop worrying. They are releasing it around or soon after the 1000-BK model is released in America. So it will be here soon.

We should be glad we even knew about it coming. The 1000BK was released here in Japan only a few days ago. Before that, if I asked about OS 2.0 in any of the music stores, all I would get is blank looks. Most people had no idea except for us here on the forum. It seems like we been waiting a long time cause we found out way early!

I showed a few music store dudes and other Japanese who owned mpc1000's this forum and they nearly fell off their chairs when they found out!

So thanks to sparq for letting us know way in advance.

Let me tell you a little something about this os and akai... Akai has no intentions what so ever to charge for this or any subsequent os update. So stop speculating that they will or talk about they “[have no choice but not to charge]” they don't plan to. And they will definitely put it out. They have no intentions of with holding 2.0 it will be out. And if you don't like the fact that it is not out yet and feel you have to post your negative anxiety in here everyday that it is not out..... STAY OUT of this thread.

Facts:
2.0 is not available for download yet

the black 1k is currently on sale in japan

the black 1k has 2.0 installed

the black 1k has 128mb RAM standard (unofficially confirmed)

2.0 will be available eventually

we bought our blue 1k without a guarantee of an feature filled os update

we the consumers are not owed anything

the blue 1k does everything that was stated it would do

Fiction:
we can not make beats without 2.0

we can not live life without 2.0

akai owes us the os because without us 19000 members of this forum,

akai can't make their payroll despite the fact that there are over 100,000 other mpc1000 users in the world.

since 2.0 is not available for download yet and sparq has the features of the new os already we have to take everything out on him


now that we can tell fact from fiction, can we just sit back and wait for it to make it here.

At this point we have not received shipments of the MPC1000BK. Unfortunately, we cannot address this at this time. When a new OS for the 1000 becomes available, we will post it on our website and will be free for all current 1000 users.

As my question seemed to have got lost in all of the bickering, I'll try again. Is it possible in the new OS to assign multiple pads to a q-link so I could, say, do a filter sweep on a whole drum set rather than just a snare without having to connect an external filter box to the mpc's outputs?

I would guess at around the time of NAMM. That's purely a guess, though

if its been released in japan, why cant some japanase dude post it for yall? or why isnt it on ebay in the black model? just seems odd

Because it's been out for less than 7 days in japan, so it may not have turned up on japanese ebay shops yet. And nobody's posted the OS binary from a japanese black mpc because there isn't a way to dump the OS binary onto a CF card, so there's no way of actually getting it out of the mpc

are you sure their is no way to dump it? does anyone have the matenience manuel for the akai mpc 1000?

it will be out. keep the HDM10 and the hard drive. you can use 2gb of your hard drive as it is which is more than a CF card can hold (unless you have the 2gb CF card) it's not the end of the world. you and everyone else will 2.0 soon enough. just have to wait a little bit more.
