After a 5 year hiatus away from an MPC (had a 2000 in 2000)...I got my 1000 in the mail today. Bought it off ebay for $610...with a 512mb card and USB Cable. It is very cool...though I see why people don't like the pads as much as the bigger models. Loaded some samples on the 32mb card and went to work. It was great to make a beat with that MPC feel to it...and also to use a machine that doesn't make you quantize. Well, at least I am finally an MPC owner at the MPC forum. Sorry about the BS thread.

(Waited an hour to load my samples onto the 512mb card...guess I need a card reader / writer).

i have a similar GE card reader, its cheap, and it transfers files WAY faster.
either way just make sure whatever card reader you get is hot swappable.

welcome back.

I don't even need 2.0... I'm content with it as is. Though I will upgrade when it comes around.

The guy had zero feedback...but he lived 20 minutes away so I took the chance...it turned out to be the right move.

To find out which OS you have go the the window where you can change the Db level and it's in the top left corner.

Got my MPC 1k at Christmas...plan to spend some quality time getting to know eachother this weekend.

Yea I got a 5-in-1 reader for about $10 from this computer store around the Chicago area called MicroCenter. Find a place like that in your area, because you can find them a lot cheaper than $20.

Glad your eBay deal went str8, I don't know if I'd have the balls to make a big purchase like that from someone with no feedback.

If any of you that are in the market for a USB card reader/writer, you're better off buying a USB 2.0 model. If your computer supports USB 2.0, your file transfers will be 40 times faster than USB 1.1.
